(Song Translation) Kooru Hana

This is one of my favorite songs from bermei.inazawa and Hanatan.

I use the vocal words for some parts of this English translation. The raw Japanese lyrics I found were somewhat inaccurate and littered with typos.

※There may be inaccuracies in the translation.

凍る花 (Frozen Flower)

Alone in a dark room while holding your knees,
If you were to hold your breath,
Then eventually, you would be dyed the color of the deep night
As if you were sleeping

On a painful journey, I searched for answers
After being driven out, I started to walk

A cold voice, only a single lie
My emotions, my reactions, and my warmth—I lost them all
Unable to regain the contours of my outline
I simply stood still;
A frozen flower

Even if I bear
This sole wound that only I can see
I now let it go with the passing days
And wonder if it will fade away

From behind the glass, I looked distantly
The transparent sky loomed above me

These cracked fingernails were what had been left behind from constructing
In here, there was neither imagination nor frustration
Though I still did not know where I was headed
I closed my eyes
A frozen flower

The promises, and the letters without destinations, too,
All of them had, from the very beginning
Been intended for here, a place of nothingness
I can’t send them, I won’t send them; they won’t win over your heart
–was what my impulse had decided

A cold voice, only a single lie
My emotions, my reactions, and my warmth—I lost them all
Unable to regain the contours of my outline
I simply stood still;
This frozen flower had

From the very beginning, been blooming here
Not swaying even when surrounded by hopes and remnants of the past
The wound it had received before still felt
As painful as it did back then
But eventually,  it will get used to it
